Zodiac Records was the house label of Stebbing Recording Co founded by Aldred Stebbing in Auckland New Zealand in 1960 and became one of the major independent record companies in NZ next to Viking.
Labels in the Stebbing fold included, Stebbing, Robbins, Icon, Viscount and Zodiac. Zodiac was set up as an outlet for New Zealand artists. The company still operates today as NZs largest CD manufacturing plant. Aldred Stebbing passed away recently aged over 80.
Only the Zodiac label from this company was issued in Australia. The labels and designs were identical to their New Zealand counterparts except for prefix numbers and perimeter print.
