From 1960 to 1965 there were also NH 23000, NH 24000 and NH 59000 series
Polydor Records was originally an independent branch of the Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft. Its name was first used as an export label in 1924. Polydor became a popular music label in 1946 while the famously yellow Deutsche Grammophon seal became a classical music label.
In the early 1970s, the main source of income for the label was probably the enormously successful UK band Slade. Later, in the late 1970s and early 1980s, the label was also home to The Jam. Though Polydor's American branch is defunct, in the United Kingdom Polydor continues to sign chart-topping acts.
