Records was founded in Seattle in 1959 by Bob Reisdorf and Bonnie Guitar.
Reisdorf was informed that there was another Dolphin Records (distributed
by Laurie Records), so he changed the name to Dolton.
Success for the label came early with "Come Softly To Me" by The Fleetwoods (Dolphin/Dolton 1). In 1963, Dolton was acquired by Avnet and merged with it's Liberty Records parent label. Liberty closed down the label in 1967. |
