The GTO label was founded in England by Laurence Myers in 1974.  
The label signed mainly pop and disco acts such as Billy Ocean, The Dooleys, Heatwave and released Donna Summer's records in the UK. 
After 4 releases by ABC Records in the U.S.A., the label switched to Ariola Records.
