| King
Records was founded in 1943 by Sydney Nathan in Cincinnati, Ohio. The company
also had the African American label, Queen Records and most notably Federal
Records which launched the singing career of James Brown.
In 1951, Nathan purchased De Luxe Records and later, in 1960, Bethlehem Records. Nathan died on March 5, 1968. King Records was sold to Starday Records in October, 1968 |
