Lifesong records was started at the tail end of 1975 by record producers/songwriters/performers Terry Cashman and Tommy West. They named the label after an album they released on ABC/Dunhill in 1974.
Lifesong's artist roster included Henry Gross, Crack the Sky, Dean Freidman, Dion and of course Cashman and West.
In 1977 with Dean Freidman's unexpected hit "Ariel" it prompted CBS to pick up Lifesongs distributorship for about a year.
In 1981 (during a 3 month long Baseball players strike) Terry Cashman had a solo "radio-hit" with "Talkin Baseball", which in turn Terry recorded almost 30 different versions of the song, (one for every Major League team). Lifesong ran out of steam and folded by 1983.
