Rocshire Records was started in late 1982 by Rocky Davis and his wife Shirley in Anaheim, California with distribution by MCA Records. The future seemed bright for this new label. It was signing a diverse stable of artists -  from 60's Brit-Invasion Chad and Jeremy to Metal newcomers Alcatrazz (w/Yngwie Malmsteen) - and building it's own in-house recording studio!  Quickly bad things started to happen, with the operation being shut-down by the U.S. Federal Marshalls. Apparently, Rocshire was financed entirely by some 12-15 million dollars that Shirley Davis had embezzled from Hughes Aircraft, while she was working as an accountant there.
Master Tapes were confiscated by the Feds, artists left without a home -  the label had just signed Mettalica! Tony Carey moved immediately to parent MCA. Rocshire was shut down in January 1984 with the owners serving jail time. This label is probably one of the fastest rising/fastest burning-out "Shooting Stars" of the record business.
