Motown soul subsidiary operating from 1963 to 1972. It's main artists were
The Velvelettes, The Spinners (known as The Detroit Spinners in Europe),
Chris Clark, The Monitors and The Elgins. Also R. Dean Taylor's first releases
were on V.I.P. before being shifted to Rare Earth. The
V.I.P. label was discontinued by the time Motown moved it's headquarters
to Los Angeles.
